  WHAT HAPPENED?

  Per The Sun, the Reds are looking to bolster their backline this summer and are now in contention to sign Guehi from Crystal Palace, who is likely to cost £75m (€89m). They, however, will face competition from Newcastle United in their pursuit of the English centre-back.

  THE BIGGER PICTURE

  Other than Guehi, the Merseyside giants also remain interested in signing Newcastle sensation Anthony Gordon. They are reportedly ready to include Joe Gomez as a part of the deal for the winger. The Magpies reportedly have identified a replacement in case Gordon exits St. James' Park in this window. They will likely go after The Eagles star Eberechi Eze who has a £60m (€71m) release clause in his current contract.
