The match saw the visitors, Leverkusen, take the lead in the 31st minute, courtesy of a strike from Robert Andrich. However, Bayern didn’t take long to respond as Aleksandar Pavlovic equalised for the hosts with a stunning strike that should be one of the contenders for the goal of the season award.

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

While Kane has become synonymous with goals, it was a bad day at the office for the England captain as he was largely anonymous and ended up failing to register a single shot on target throughout the 90 minutes. The evening got worse as the striker was seen limping off the pitch in the 86th minute after a challenge from Bayer Leverkusen’s Amine Adli left him in serious pain.

  • WHAT KANE SAID

After the match, Kane took to Instagram where he shared a carousel of pictures from the match and expressed his disappointment at the result: "Tough game and very frustrating not to win. We’ve just gotta keep going forward with the same strong mindset. 🙌"

    WHAT NEXT FOR KANE?

Although Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen played down Kane's injury concerns after the match, it remains to be seen if he is available for Bayern’s crucial Champions League match against Aston Villa next Wednesday.
